I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 7 and in 2021 I will be a year 8. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Hello today im going to tell you what I did in cooking. This is my first food blog.
We made Mex mince/ Nachos, so we needed to everything ready for today, First we went over ingredients to make our food. Here is a photo of what we are trying to make.
Im going to tell you who was in my team what the ingredients and what my next step is.
In my team with Cate can sam we got to work together and I think we were a great team.
This is who you make it.
¼ t Garlic (jar) or 2 clove of fresh garlic (finely chopped or crushed)
1 small Onion – finely diced
150 g Mince
1 small Carrot – finely diced
¼ - ½ Capsicum – diced (use red and green or yellow capsicums)
4T corn / peas (use frozen)
6 T of Chilli Beans / Baked Beans (or to taste)
2 T Tomato Paste
2 T -4T chopped Tomatoes (use tinned diced tomatoes)
½ t – 1 t Taco Seasoning mix
6 T Water
Salt and Pepper as required
Method
1. Heat 1 t Oil and ½ t Butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
2. Sauté onion and garlic, approximately 1 min.
3. Add carrot, capsicum, peas and corn.
4. Stir fry for 2 min.
5. Add mince. Cook stirring until brown (no more lumps or pink colour)
6. Add rest of ingredients.
7. Stir until just bubbling and turn element to low. Simmer for 2 – 3 min.
Cover pan and turn off element. Leave for 5 -7 minutes.
8. Serve with Taco chips, Pita bread or Tortillas etc
9. Garnish with shredded lettuce, grated cheese, avocado, sour cream etc.
Im not a big fan of the food but I think my family would love to try it.
I think my next step will be making this for my mum and sister.
