Shaping up/hur3

Hello today in my hurumanu 3 class, I will be telling you what has happened in shaping up. We having been learning about lines/angles, shape's, nets, and so much more. It's about to be the end of term 3 and we have been told to write a blog about what we have done in our hurumanu class.

For each of the different things we have being learning about, the first thing we did in shaping up was learning about  lines and angles.

Here are some of the work we did.

There was also a game to go with the lines and angles that we did in our books.

There was so many things to do but we got most of it done.

For the next thing we did in Shaping up it was, net's if you dont know what a net is, it's like a paper that you can make into a 3D shape. We got to play kahoot about the net, we got some activities about the nets. Here are the photos I took that are the activities.

There are more activities that we got to do, but I didn't get a photos of it.
I can't wait for term 3, and the new things we get to learn. This year is going so fast it seems like its already term 3, but its not. Thank you for reading my blog and have a great day.

Reading/Hur 1

Today in hur 1 we have been working on a story to our on reading level. I was in a group that was a bit to easy but I still got all the work done, in one day. My story was called Max and Alice, I will link the story in my blog (here). There have been question to the story that we all had to answer. Here are the questions and my answers.

1. What sort of club did Alice, Amy, and  Louis start? What happened to it and why? Alice, Amy, and louis started a kindness club in the library at lunchtime,

The librarian closed the club down because the kids were drawing on the cushions.

2. Who is Ms Va’a? What did she bring to school?

Ms Va's is a teacher aide Ms Va’a brought her lamb and miniature pony to school.

3. Find a range of evidence to suggest that Alice is kind.

Alice started a kindness club and didn’t get upset when it was closed down, Alice also smiled at people they way her mom/dad showed her to.

4. Who helped Alice after she tripped  over? In what ways did each person help her?

Alice had given her pencil sharpener to max to help him get out from under the desk.

Write a question that will answer these words.

1. Mr Sandbrook- Who is Max's teacher?

2. Amy- Who is nice in the story?

3. Earthquake drill- Why was Max not getting out from under the table?

Exploring Language

What do these words mean?  Find a definition for each one and use it in a sentence.

  1. Crouch- Crouch means that the knees are bent and the upper body.

  2. Supportive- Supportive means that some person/people are there to be supportive with how they acted or identify as.

  3. Drill- A drill is like a drill used to practice in preparation for an earthquake.

A person crouched down to be a supportive friend when a drill was happening.

Write 3 sentences about the story using 'they're', 'there' and 'their'.

  1. They're- They are

  2. There- place,object

  3. Their - possession

They’re about to go out with their friends. Max said “ the place is right over there.

In the story the names are really weird for some and I dont know why they are named that but its all goods. Anyway thank you for reading my blog and have a good day.

Kate Sheppard.

For the last week or so we have been learning about Kate Sheppard, in our Hurumau class. I have learnt a lot of stuff about Kate Sheppard, and when she was born. We had to read about how Kate Sheppard got people to sign a form, so women could have the right to vote. In my class we were given some actives about Kate Sheppard, and get information from the book. There was a poster that we had to make for people to sign for women to have the right to vote. So here is the poster for people to sign.

If you were back when women couldn't vote would you sign this so women can vote?
There are so much things that changed because women can now vote. Thanks to Kate Sheppard she changed so much for women. If you want to read about Kate Sheppard the link is here. I hope you learnt something new if you read about Kate Sheppard if you didn't than thats ok to. I hope you have a great day.

I had picked the make a motivational poster from all of the activates. Here is a photo of all the activates we could pick out of.

There are so many to pick out of and I would like to try more than one of the activates. I have made a motivational poster to help with whats going on in other peoples lives, because we all have a story to our lives. Anyway this is my poster.
I hope you like reading my blog and could give me some ideas to make my blog better. Have a great day. :)

Women's rights

Today im going to talk to you about Women's right's and before they had the right to vote. Before women had rights women couldn’t vote, because men thought that women could vote, work, and more. Women didn’t have the right’s that they do today back then. Men think that women could only look after the kids, clean and have kids. One lady didn’t like that Women couldn’t vote.

So on 19 of September 1893 Kate Sheppard changed all that. Before women had rights women couldn’t vote, because men thought that women could vote, work, and more. Women didn’t have the right’s that they do today back then. Some men think that women could only look after the kids, clean and have kids. Kate Sheppard wanted women to have rights but it wasn’t just her. Some women wanted to vote but they were to scared to say something. On 19 September 1893 everything has change for women. Thanks to New Zealand and Kate Sheppard that’s when other places gave women the right to vote.

Thank you for reading my blog have a great day.
