 Hello!!

Today in my blog I'm going to talk about what we are learning about.

Last week we started working on  Maori Myths and Legends, but a new story. We have been given slide's to work on. The Myth or Legend we have been learning about is "Hatupatu and the bird-woman"

There was some activities  we have been give to work on. For one of our activities we needed to make a wanted poster, and make it about the bird-woman.

Here is my wanted poster.

Next week we are learning about the same thing but it might be something different.

Thank you for reading my blog and have a good day.

Making Sherbet

 Aim:

I want to find out how to make sherbet.

Research:

Method:

Equipment:

  •  Citre Acid
  • Baking soda
  • Raro or icing sugar
  • A cup
  • A stick
  • Paper

Instruction:

  1. Get your equipment.
  2. Put your Citre acid, baking soda and raro onto your paper.
  3. Once you have your equipment on paper mix your Citre Acid, baking soda and raro to your cup.
  4. Mix them together with your stick and try it.
  5. Try to get the best tasting sherbet, and not make the teacher sick from it.
  6. Wet your stick with water and taste it, if it doesn't taste right add some more baking soda but not to much.

Result

The sherbet was hard to make and tasted like dirt, but once you get the right taste then it would be fine. When you add the baking soda it makes the sherbet fizz inside of your mouth.

Discussion

Why did it foam?

The chemical reaction from the baking soda and Citre Acid mixing together when it touches your tongue. The same as mixing baking soda and vinegar, mixing the to would give a reaction with the chemical and start to foam up.

Reading/DLO

  Hello!

In my blog today I'm going to talk about my reading class and what we done.

Every week we are given pages from a book to read then make a DLO about something from that book. The book we have been given is "Uncle Don Knows Heaps of Wacky Stuff".

All of our DLO's have been about something we have found in the book we might haven't known

before.

Every time I have picked something I didn't know and wanted to learn more about. So here is my

DLO about The Kea and Rat.

The image wouldn't load in so here is a link. Kea and Rat DLO

I hope you have learnt something new from my blog, if you haven't thats alright. Have a great day,

Goodbye:))

Gymnastics - Takaporepore

 Hello!

In my blog i'm going to talk about what we have been doing for the last week and a half.

In P.E we have been learning about Gymnastics also known as Takaporepore. The meaning of Takaporepore is roll over and over.

My teacher Mr Hilliard sent us a google docs with all the things we need to learn by the end of this week!

Here is a photo of the things we are learning. Also a link to it.  Gymnastics - Takaporepore

Thank you to Cate for helping me learn new things, and rating me on the equipment. I couldn't have done it without Cate!!

We have one more day of gymnastics and my goal is to know how to do everything on the list.

I have enjoyed gymnastics now, because before we started learning about it I didn't really enjoy going and trying something new. After I had a go I ended up loving it and couldn't wait for the next class.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog about P.E and hope you try having ago at it.

Have a great day have thank you!! Goodbye:))
