Making Sherbet

 Aim:

I want to find out how to make sherbet.

Research:

Method:

Equipment:

  •  Citre Acid
  • Baking soda
  • Raro or icing sugar
  • A cup
  • A stick
  • Paper

Instruction:

  1. Get your equipment.
  2. Put your Citre acid, baking soda and raro onto your paper.
  3. Once you have your equipment on paper mix your Citre Acid, baking soda and raro to your cup.
  4. Mix them together with your stick and try it.
  5. Try to get the best tasting sherbet, and not make the teacher sick from it.
  6. Wet your stick with water and taste it, if it doesn't taste right add some more baking soda but not to much.

Result

The sherbet was hard to make and tasted like dirt, but once you get the right taste then it would be fine. When you add the baking soda it makes the sherbet fizz inside of your mouth.

Discussion

Why did it foam?

The chemical reaction from the baking soda and Citre Acid mixing together when it touches your tongue. The same as mixing baking soda and vinegar, mixing the to would give a reaction with the chemical and start to foam up.
